Snow Days # 7 and 8

Wednesday was the first time Gabe has ever been home on a day I have had a snow day. The three of us had a nice relaxing day and enjoyed some time in the snow!
My 2 favorite boys!We didn't have a sled lying around, but we had a Boogie Board. It was perfect!

Owen LOVED it!!!

Of course, we had to make time to just run around in the snow too!

And he wanted to help Dada shovel. He thought this was awesome! Wonder if he will think the same thing in a few years?? :)
We had another snow day on Thursday and we took advantage of it by lounging around the house! I am actually thankful we had one for once because Owen ended up getting pink eye.

Snow Day #6

Another snow day meant another fun day with Owen. We definitely entertained ourselves today! Take a look at what we did...
Looking cool in his bear claw gloves from his Aunt Lucy!Um...Mom...I lost a glove!
Little snow covered boy taking off for the neighbors yard.
When we got back inside, Owen saw our cat Pepper go through the cat door for the first time. He was very intrigued. Where did Pepper go???
Wonder if I can fit???

After his nap, we played hard!
Blocks...there is no way to do it but dump out the entire bag, or 2.

When the bag is empty, you can wear it.

Concentrating...

Then we went and jumped on the bed.

I love his hair when he plays with the ball popper.

Played a little on the drums.

He really thought he could fit under his crib, ha!

Mama, can you read it to me again?!

His two favorite books of the day, I can't even tell you how many times we read them. :)

Puffing and blowing his checks like the cow in his book. (Can we say raspberries??)
After his bath, we did our almost nightly game of chase. It is very hard to get a full body shot, this little guy is FAST! :)

Hope you had as much fun as we did! Although, I am kind of hoping this is our last snow day. I don't want to lose all those pretty days during spring break and the end of the year!

3 Day Weekend

Saturday we stayed around the house until meeting up with some of our favorite friends, The Watson's, for dinner and a game. We met up at Cheddar's and had a delicious dinner then headed to WKU to watch some basketball. A big thank you to them for hooking us up with tickets! The boys were so well behaved and were really into watching the game. We had a great time (as always) with the Watson's!

After the game, Owen and Eli had a great time with the basketball!

On Sunday we went to the new church we have been trying out. They had a unity service where three church campuses joined together at a school in Bowling Green. The service began at 10:30 and we didn't leave until 1:00. It was a really interesting service! After church we headed to Evansville to go out on a date. We went to one of my favorite Evansville restaurants - G.D. Ritzy's. YUM!!! Then we went and watched The Dilemma. With the two main actors in this movie, we were expecting it to be hilarious...but it was just ok. Gabe and I both rated it a 6 out of 10. Nonetheless, we had fun! Thanks again Mom for watching Owen!

Gabe was still of on Monday! Wow! I can't remember the last time he has had an entire weekend off, much less a 3-day weekend! We did some things around the house and then headed to Hopkinsville for the evening to celebrate his Mom's birthday. We went out to dinner and then played at their house. All in all, we had a pretty good weekend!
Blurry picture...but part of the birthday celebration!

Another Snow Day

Owen is really starting to embrace snow days. He slept in until 9:20!!!! WOW! I didn't know what to do! After he woke up, we had some breakfast, watched Elmo, and then played.
We checked out the birds in the backyard. There were a ton!!!
(Sorry Mom!)Then we were just silly!
(As you can see, Owen knows all about wearing sweats on snow days!)

After his nap, we enjoyed some tacos and seasoned potatoes. Then it was time for some more fun...
We played with Play-dough that I made before Christmas.
We did a little coloring.

As for the rest of the night, Gabe and I will be watching The Middle and Modern Family. :)

Snow Day

Here is a glimpse of how Owen and I spent our snow day! Although I won't enjoy making these days up in the summer, we sure have had fun!!!

What is this stuff?

Doggy....

How cute are little footprints in the snow?!

New Year's Resolutions

The typical new year's resolutions have to do with losing weight or keeping a clean house, but we all know that I am not typical. Although I would like to drop some pounds and keep a clean house, I am not going to make it a resolution because those things are not a priority in my life right now. Now, I would die if I don't have an hour or so notice before you come to my house...enough time to shove some stuff in a closet or a room with a door on it. :)

Anyway, back to my new year's resolutions. I am embarrassed to say this and ashamed that this has to be a new year's resolution, but Gabe and I do not have a church we can call 'home'. I can go through all the excuses like it being the only family day for us or it's hard going into a church where everybody knows each other, but we should NOT have or use these as excuses! We have been going to churches, but it is here and there and if we don't go it's not like anyone would notice because we jump around. So...I am ready! I am ready to become a part of a church, I am ready to be involved, I am ready to set an example for my son and raise him in a church. Am I embarrassed that we don't already have this established when both Gabe and I were raised in christian homes, YES! But, now is the time! I am happy to say that we went to a church the first Sunday after the new year and liked the feel of it and were back there this past Sunday. I almost think it was God's way of leading us to this particular church. I was searching through an endless list of churches around the Bowling Green area and came across a church in Rockfield. I thought this would be good because it wouldn't take us long to get there and even if we woke up late we could make it there. Well, we drove on all these back roads and ended up at a very small church with just a handful of cars in the parking lot. Now, I am not trying to judge a church of this size but I think it is even more intimidating to walk into a church where it is impossible to go unnoticed. Long story short, we kept driving and ran across the church that we have gone to the past two Sunday's. So, like I said, maybe it is God's plan and this will be a church we can call 'home'. Even if it is not, it's a start and I am excited about that! So, if you are reading this, please pray with us in our journey to be a part of a fellowship.

Another resolution I have is not near as serious. In fact, some people might think I am silly! My resolution is for Gabe and I to have a game night one night a week. Now reading this, it does sound silly, so let me explain myself. As I have mentioned several times before, Gabe works most evenings, so by the time he gets home we typically sit on the couch and veg while staring at the TV. Having a game night would require us to turn off the TV and encourage more talking between the two of us. Our game night for right now is set for Tuesday nights and we started it last week. I am excited about this resolution that I have as silly as you might think it is! :)

The last resolution that my Mom actually pointed out to me is what I am doing now, blogging! I had a huge stretch of time without any blogs and I want to get back to doing it on a semi regular basis. I have a horrible memory and this is a great way to keep record of all the fun times we have as a family!

That's my resolutions! Wish us luck!!! :)

Christmas Evening

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but you have not truly experienced Christmas unless Denise (my mom) is a part of it. She knows how to do Christmas...and she does it BIG! It is so sweet to see the excitement in her face when someone opens a gift from her. She is the definition of being excited for others! Not to mention, she loves to spoil all of us!
Owen and Mason checking out some of the toys from Grammy and Pops.Mason playing ba-ball.
Jill and Mason checking out the ride-on toys that Pops picked out for the boys.

Apparently Owen takes after me with the love of my Mom's cookies.

Just one more?? Pretty please!!!

So....can you tell who's Mama plays Guitar Hero at home?? Would it be Mason?
Or Owen?? Haha! Poor kid doesn't even know how to hold the guitar. Aunt Jill is going to have to give him some lessons!

Some people might think it is a little much to go to three places in one day for Christmas celebrations. In my opinion, Christmas day should just get a few more hours added on to it! We had a wonderful Christmas! Can't wait until next year! :)
